11/27/16  To-do List

  1. Gerrymandering has raised its head again in this election and the federal court decision in Wisconsin has struck down their districts saying they were unconstitutionally gerrymandered to favor Republicans.  The Sierra Club of Michigan has spearheaded a petition drive for non-partisan redistricting in Michigan.  Go here to learn more and sign the petition.  http://sierraclubmichiganaction.blogspot.com/2016/09/say-yes-to-nonpartisan-redistricting-in.html

  1. As you may know, there is still one Senate seat to be decided which  could put one more Democrat in the mix. The Louisiana runoff vote for the seat is on December 10.  Democrat Foster Campbell is running against Republican John Kennedy.  It is a long shot, apparently, but is getting lots of play, as it will help the Dem numbers.  If you have the time and inclination to donate to or volunteer in Campbell’s campaign, there are opportunities here:  http://www.fostercampbell2016.com/volunteer/

  1. To offset the boycott against Target’s bathroom policy, let’s all do some extra shopping there to show that we support ALL of brothers and sisters.  http://www.snopes.com/activists-target-big-box-chain-target-with-holiday-boycott/
