  1. Recent studies have shown that school vouchers are not as beneficial as their promoters claim. American United for Separation of Church and State has an opportunity for us to contact our legislators to oppose school vouchers:

  1. From The White House:  “Tens of thousands of Americans gave us input before the President addressed the Nation. We listened because we want to hear directly from Americans like you. Please take just a few seconds and let us know your opinions on President Trump’s speech and vision for the future. “  Here is their Joint Address Exit Survey:

  1. From one of our own:  The White House proposal to reduce the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) budget is dangerous for all of us. The radar images you see in your weather app and on tv forecasts all come from NOAA satellites. A 22% cut to that program alone would be devastating. There would be cuts to other programs as well. Please contact your rep on the House Budget Committee to ensure these essential services.  Member listed here:

Other Actions

  1. It is not too early to make sure we and our friends are all set to vote in the next election and to help others be set as well.  Thankfully, the folks at VoteRiders can help us make sure:  Here are other ways to help:

  1. President Obama has been named the recipient of this year’s John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.  Let’s congratulate him here:

  1. On March 11, the ACLU is holding a Resistance Training. This event will launch People Power, the ACLU’s new effort to engage grassroots volunteers across the country and take the fight against Donald Trump’s policies not just into the courts, but into the streets. We’re organizing grassroots events in communities across the country to watch the livestream together.  Sign up here:

  1. March your calendars for April 22, Earth Day, for the March for Science.  You can find details about the Washington, D.C. march and satellite marches here:  They also have a Facebook page:

  1. Shall we weigh-in on this poll from the Conservative Tribune? The question is:  Do you think Obama is organizing protests against Trump?

  1. More postcard art!  Mary Engelbreit is offering the "Nevertheless, She Persisted" drawings as free downloads to make postcards, in case you have any concerns you'd like to discuss with your elected officials but can't get them on the phone! 1. We need to keep paying attention to the Bannon agenda.  It does not bode well for “we the people”:

  1. While this is a further-left publication than usually site here, this story from a former neo-Nazi member fits well with the Bannon story:

  1. The 5Calls link for ACA Repeal review is broken:

  2. Thanks, Georgia! I've removed it until I can correct it.

  3. I'm also calling my state representatives to speak in favor of or oppose legislation they're considering. Because my state is Texas, there is much to consider. Today, I was calling, asking my state senator to oppose SB-25, a bill ostensibly to protect physicians from being sued if a baby is born with a disability, but which some fear will be used to withhold information from parents if the physician fears they might choose to abort if a fetus has disabilities. Texas is attempting to pass a whole series of laws that limit choice and, sometimes, hamper maternal health. I did some research first so I could decide how I felt and then called. The wonderful young aide on the phone mentioned that Texas has MyTLO (search for "Texas Legislature Online") that helps constituents see what's being considered and where it is in the approval process. I mention this in case others might be trying to keep up with their state legislatures. I'm sure many states have such sites, although I somehow had forgotten that ours does. Linda P.

    1. Wonderful, Linda! I love when people use my list as a jumping off point for even more action! I hope you have other places you can share this!

  4. Hi Susan, Could you add this to a future issue of Rogan's List? Ben Carson’s demeaning comments referring to slaves as immigrants, who “worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters… might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land,” shows that he does not understand the sacrifices and history of African Americans in the United States. The museum’s webpage states that the purpose is to seek to understand American history through the lens of the African American experience. The museum has a display about Ben Carson’s medical achievements. Let’s write to the director to request he remove Ben Carson’s exhibit as he does not understand and promote the reality of this important part of American history. National Museum of African American History and Culture, Director Lonnie Bunch, 1400 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington DC 20560-0007.

    1. I'd be willing to do so, but I can't seem to find a link to the Carson exhibit. Can you please share one with me?

  5. I found this article:

"National Museum of African American History and Culture
A set of Dr. Ben Carson's operating scrubs, some of his photographers and other artifacts are on display in the in the third floor Community Galleries at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture."
