1/1/17  To-do List

There is no special way to attack this action list. If it seems overwhelming, just do the first two items to make it easier.  If you have a little more time, do the third….and the fourth…. Or, choose items that speak to your heart.  Some people cut and paste the list, print it off and take it with them so they can check items off while they are out and about during the day and just waiting or driving.  Others click and do items as they work on their computer or phone.  There is no right way to do this.  Just do something!  Remember, too, that many of the suggestions made on earlier days are still doable.

  1. Sign this White House petition asking SCOTUS to invalidate the 2016 election results due to the Russian hacking and to order a new election:  https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/scotus-invalidate-election-results-2016-order-new-election

  1. Once you’ve read the Indivisible guide (https://www.indivisibleguide.com), another must-read guide is called Indivertable and was written by people who worked on shows like Countdown with Keith Olbermann and The Daily Show, and it’s about how to fix biased TV news (Fox News I’m looking at you). It’s an EXCELLENT read. It’s well thought out, it’s got actual steps you can take, and easy ways to do it. A warning – it’s long (because it has so much info), so if you don’t have a couple of hours to sit down and read it, I would recommend you start at page 19. And did I mention it’s funny? It’s really funny. AND, all of this can totally be done in conjunction with the stuff in the Indivisible guide.   Some readers may find some of the language offensive, but the substance is good.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByQ6czv418-kTi10T0ZFbmNNSHc/view

  1. “Incoming Freedom Caucus chairman  Rep.Mark Meadows (R-NC) recommends that the Trump administration roll back 2011 campus sexual assault guidelines that “deny the often-innocent accused basic due process rights.” http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2016/12/30/rep-meadows-targets-campus-rape-rule/95937320/  Let’s do a postcard avalanche to let him know that this is unacceptable.  Here’s his address:  Rep. Mark Meadows, 1024 Longworth HOB, Washington, DC 20515

  1. January 9, 2017 is being called “Day Against Denial”.  There are gatherings all over the country to call out our Senators to do the right thing and reject the nominations, and to have direct conversation with the Senator’s staff to pass along the message that we, as constituents and voters, do not accept Trump’s dangerous nominations.  To find a gathering near you, click here:  https://actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/day-against-denial/  The page also includes digital toolkits for organizing.

  1.
