  1. Save the Children, like so many other individuals and organizations are passionate about the plight of refugees.  Please sign their petition asking Congress to repeal the refugee ban:  http://action.savethechildrenactionnetwork.org/p/dia/action3/common/public/index.sjs?action_KEY=20705

  1. Last month, top tech corporations: Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Google, Apple, IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, SRA International, and CGI were all asked if they’d sell their technology to help Trump build a Muslim registry - an insidious plan to track, racially profile, and relegate Muslim Americans to second-class citizenship. Please join the Color of Change, an online racial justice organization, in telling tech firms to NOT help Trump build a Muslim Registry:  https://act.colorofchange.org/sign/tell-tech-no-muslim-registry

  1. For a link to your legislators and script to use when contacting them about the Muslim ban, go to Weekly Action to Resist Trump (http://www.weekly-resistance.online/) and choose "Muslim bans and registries" under the "pick a specific issue" drop-down menu.  Then, select your state, then legislator.

  1. The Council on American-Islamic Relations will have a news conference on Monday, January 30th at 1pm to announce its filing of a federal lawsuit  challenging the Muslim ban. Find more information, including a link to its live stream, here: https://www.cair.com/press-center/press-releases.html

  1. For those in California: sign a letter of support for S.B. 31; critical legislation needed to protect against the creation of a Muslim registry: http://bit.ly/civilrightsbills

  1. Please join in MoveOn.org’s petition by Linda Sarsour to the US Congress: Targeting people based on their religion is wrong and unconstitutional. Shutting the doors on some of the most vulnerable people in the world—refugees seeking safety—shows a moral bankruptcy that is shocking even for Donald Trump. We demand that you go on record and resoundingly reject Trump's Muslim ban.http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/reject-trumps-muslim

  1. Mpower Change, an online organizing platform to build grassroots Muslim power while advancing social, spiritual, racial, & economic justice, also has a petition to Congres to reject the Muslim ban:  https://act.mpowerchange.org/sign/reject-muslim-ban/

  1. Donald Trump's Muslim ban is a dark moment in American history. Join the Democratic Party and tell Trump to rescind this order immediately: http://my.democrats.org/page/s/no-muslim-ban

  1. Congress can pass legislation to override an Executive Order. That legislation would be subject to the veto, which Congress could override with a 2/3 majority in both houses. On Monday, call your members in both houses to intro legislation. Someone will. Then, call your members to cosponsor. There are Republicans who are nervous about this horrible Muslim Ban, and I'd expect this is actually possible. Get to work. Find your legislators here:  http://act.commoncause.org/site/PageServer?pagename=sunlight_advocacy_list_page

  1. From Sen. Harris:  I've defended immigrant and refugee communities before — and I'm prepared to do it again with imminent attacks from this administration. Add your name in opposition to Trump’s refugee ban: http://go.kamalaharris.org/page/s/act-refugees-jan2017-v2

  1. SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH ALL VULNERABLE GROUPS:  ATTENTION: Immigrants and Refugees from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen:  YOU HAVE RIGHTS.  If you are denied entry or detained at a port of entry by a Customs and Border Protection here's what you should do:  1) Green Card Holders: Resist any demands to give up your green card. Do NOT sign Form I-407, even if they say it will make things easier. 2) Demand a hearing from a judge: You have the right to a hearing with an immigration judge. Do NOT relinquish this right. 3) Demand to Speak to an Attorney: You have the right to be represented by an attorney. Ask to speak to an attorney, and discuss details of your case with only your attorney, not CBP. 1. There have been zero fatal terror attacks on U.S. soil since 1975 by immigrants from the seven Muslim-majority countries Trump targeted with immigration bans on Friday, further highlighting the needlessness and cruelty of the president’s executive order. Join with the Democratic Coalition Against Trump and write your reps and senators urging them to push back on Trump's Muslim ban here [http://bit.ly/2k3SpQD] and call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to tell them how you feel.

  1. If you're a lawyer who doesn't work for the federal government - especially if you speak Arabic, Farsi, or Kurdish - the International Refugee Assistance Project is taking volunteers to do triage at major airports where refugees, visa holders, and LPRs are detained due to Friday's executive order.  The stories coming out of the airports are horrifying.  Here's the IRAP Google doc where you can sign up to assist detainees:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScU15uSaSkA61YrGmXfplfOu2UwlcwIyEJXPuyON6SCE6YlAw/viewform?c=0&w=1
