To our dear subscribers,
Rogan’s List remains on a quasi-hiatus for the foreseeable future due to health issues, but will be publishing occasionally.
As this is continuing on longer than we originally hoped and because of the overlay of the timing with our unfolding Constitutional crisis, we want to share some resources that we can all be connecting with to stay in action - along with sharing some specific actionable ideas.
Please remember that thoughtful, consistent action based on factual information is the best antidote we have against despair and destruction in these hard times. We are sorry to not be showing up in your inbox or on Facebook regularly at this time. However, we remain beside you in our collective fight for the well-being of our nation and people. We have all built strong muscles over the past couple years and now must continue to put them into action regularly.
ACTIONS SPECIFIC TO CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS:
Let’s keep pressing our MoCs to do the following:
--Demand the full unredacted version of the Mueller Report
--Demand that Robert Mueller testify publicly before Congress.
--Look into impeaching Attorney General Barr for deliberate obfuscation of facts: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/william-barr-has-shamelessly-corrupted-the-mueller-report/2019/05/01/6819c0b4-6c39-11e9-8f44-e8d8bb1df986_story.html?utm_term=.5ba74229714b
--Continue investigations of the numerous ways Trump has obstructed justice, and continues to obstruct justice by stonewalling Congress, and start impeachment proceedings if Trump continues to refuse to comply.
--Pass a bill that would extend the statute of limitations for Trump's crimes if he were re-elected. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/19/swalwell-president-criminal-statute-of-limitations-1227115
If we would like to use scripts to use when we call our Representatives, we can check out the Celeste Pewter link which is further below.
Let’s demand that Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin (phone 202-622-2000; 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20220; Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ustreasury/; Twitter: @stevenmnuchin1) follow his Constitutional and legal duty to release Trump's tax returns.
Contact information for Democratic House Leadership for communication re: impeachment, subpoenas, contempt citations, and getting Trump’s taxes:
MoveOn.org has not yet retriggered the national rapid response activation for national protests regarding violation of the rule of law. Let’s make sure we are signed up to receive information about national actions if that changes:

OTHER CURRENT ACTIONS:
WOMEN’S HEALTH AND RIGHTS:
We can stop doing business with companies headquartered in Georgia, Ohio, and Kentucky, where they have passed fetal heartbeat bills. (The Georgia law goes as far as to prosecute women who go across state lines to have abortions, and charges anyone who drives them with abetting a murderer). More information can be found here: https://www.plannedparenthoodaction.org/blog/dont-call-6-week-abortion-bans-heartbeat-bills-heres-why. Let’s volunteer to fight these bans and help women in these states by donating to organizations listed in this article: https://www.thecut.com/2019/05/how-to-help-6-week-abortion-ban-georgia.html.
DREAMERS AND IMMIGRATION:
Let’s tell our MoCs to pass the HR . 6 The American Dream and Promise Act and tell them you are opposed to any attempts to water it down. Information from Indivisible here: https://act.indivisible.org/call/dream-and-promise-act/?source=email_20190506_link1&utm_source=email&utm_medium=link1&t=12&akid=48623%2E343419%2E_IElhb
GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION:
Let’s ask our MoC how many more children they will allow to die in order to preserve Americans’ right to bear arms. Let’s tell our Senators to press for passage of HR 8, as a small first step. More information on this issue is available at Everytown for Gun Safety.
CLIMATE CHANGE: We can sign this petition asking the Democratic National Committee to hold a climate debate (https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/tell-the-democratic-national-committee-hold-a-climate-debate).
BALANCE OF POWER: Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said this week that he is concerned President Trump is "exercising powers that do not really belong to him." Stevens, 99, who retired in 2010, told The Wall Street Journal there are "things we should all be concerned about." When pressed for specifics, Stevens said he thinks Trump is exercising powers that are not within a president’s authority. “I mean, he has to comply with subpoenas and things like that," Stevens, an appointee of former Republican President Ford, told the outlet. Stevens's comments came after Trump vowed last month to fight "all the subpoenas" issued by House Democrats as they seek to investigate his campaign, business and administration. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/443235-retired-justice-stevens-trump-exercising-powers-that-do-not-really?sfns=mo. We must constantly remind our Republican Senate that they are responsible for part of the balance of powers of our democracy and they must not sit on their hands while Trump misuses the powers of the presidency. Let’s contact our MoC with a reminder that he/she works for us - not the corporations who fill their pocketbooks.
